José Ramón Sandoval has set his goal of "building a competitive team" during his presentation as coach for Granada CF, after taking charge of the andalucian team last season and achieving permanence in La Liga BBVA.

"I had no doubt, it was clear to me that where I wanted to be was in Granada with these people and these fans. Our goal is to define a competitive team which will thrill this city. The continuation of my project and the confidence placed in me wasn't because of my name but rather for the work done in the last month. This is the most important challenge that I have before me right now", affirmed the coach.

The coach from Madrid took charge of the team from Granada in the last month of May, substituting Abel Resino and was able to turn the team´s situation around. With a balance of three victories and a draw in four games, Sandoval was able to save the team and has claimed the BBVA award for 'La Liga Best Manager for the month of May' a distinction chosen through the LFP.es website and conceded by BBVA, the main sponsor for the competition.
