"In Russia we watch LaLiga with great interest. By popularity, LaLiga has surpassed the English Premier League in recent years. That is one of the reasons why we have several TV channels which broadcast the Spanish LaLiga: one of them is federal, and some others are cable.
From this season, we are lucky, because the All-Russian nation can enjoy LaLiga through NTV+, who offer special TV programs with different guests and a different way of presenting the information to us every matchday.
If before, La Liga mainly interested us because of Real Madrid and Barcelona, now in Russia there are more Atletico, Valencia and Sevilla fans every day thanks to their great performances in Europe, and the high level that they have shown in recent years in LaLiga.
Players like Javi García at FC Zenit, Alberto Zapater at Lokomotiv, and César Navas at Rostov, have brought a Spanish flavour to Russia.
We closely monitor the career of Real Madrid midfielder Denis Cheryshev, son of Dmitry Cheryshev, and the coach of Sevilla, Unai Emery, who worked with Spartak Moscow in 2012, and won the UEFA Europa League two years in a row with the Andalusian team.
In spite of the results that he had with Spartak, Emery was really popular here in our country. He put Russian football on the European map and he continues to be one of the most important attractions for us in Spanish football. We will keep our focus on LaLiga to enjoy the stars, the games, and to bring ideas to our sports culture. ¡Viva LaLiga!"
