Real Betis Balompié, despite conceding in the first 12 minutes, were able to come back and take the win at the Estadio Municipal de Montilivi (1-3) against a combative Girona side.
The home side started the better, going ahead thanks to a Felipe Sanchón strike. Betis were able to react quickly through Rubén Castro, beating Isaac Becerra one-on-one. Shortly after, visiting centre back Jordi Figuera flicked off Lejeune and went in to make it 1-2.
In the second half, the Catalan outfit were outclassed by the Andalusian side, who scored a third on the counter. Rubén Castro scored with a thumping left foot drive past the despairing Becerra. In the closing moments the home side tried, but ultimately failed to get back into the game. This result means Betis stay in eighth, while Girona fall to third.
