Bad news for Real Valladolid CF. Striker Roger Martí, on loan this season from Levante UD, will be out for six months after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, as Valladolid have announced on their official website.
The 23-year-old forward suffered this unfortunate injury in the fixture on matchday 6 of the Liga Adelante against Real Sporting de Gijón, when he had to leave the field of play in the 31st minute. After the regrettable news was announced, Roger himself expressed his thanks for the support he had received. "Many thanks for the messages of encouragement. It’s probably the saddest day of my life, but it won’t stop me fulfilling my dream. The countdown to my return to where I’m happy starts today", he said.
Roger, who has scored two goals at the start of the Liga Adelante, will undergo surgery in the coming days.
