Excitement and goals in the Galician derby that ended in a 2-2 draw. RC Deportivo La Coruña took the lead in the first half with two goals but CD Lugo fought until they drew level. The Coruña team keep their lead at the top of the Liga Adelante.
It was Deportivo that went out with more determination at the start of the match. The Liga Adelante leaders took the initiative and had the best chances on goal in the first half. Not ten minutes had gone by on the scoreboard when Diego Ifrán showed his enormous quality on the Ángel Carro field and, after combining with Bryan Rabello, beat Dani Mallo. Before the break, Depor made the most of a corner, with Pablo Insua heading in the second goal of the game.
Lugo did not give up despite the scoreline and, after half time, they opened up their game and started to look for Germán Lux’s goal. Fernando Vázquez’s team also continued to look for goals and could have extended their lead on several occasions. However, it was the local side that added the excitement in the final moments with a goal from Vincenzo Rennella in the 72nd minute. Lugo kept pressing to the end and in the 82nd minute the home side’s striker scored the equaliser.
