Match Facts:

RCD Espanyol (15th, 28 pts):

- Constantin Galca's men are desperately searching for some sort of consistency. Last time out they lost at home to Real Betis after they had claimed a win at R.Sporting on the previous matchday. The Catalan oufit are blowing hot and cold, testified by the fact that they've not managed to put points on the board in two successive games since the early stages of the season, when on matchdays four and five they recorded wins against Real Sociedad and Valencia CF.

-Espanyol have eight Liga BBVA wins to their name so far this term. Although they might have succumbed to defeat in their last home game, so far this season the Barcelona side have registered five wins on home soil. Galca's troops are more than aware that their hopes of staying in the top flight depend on their home form.

Rayo Vallecano (17th, 26 pts)

- For the last time that Paco Jemez's men tasted victory, we have to go back to matchday 24, when they despatched of RC Celta by 3-0. Rayo have followed that triumph with three 2-2 draws and a reverse at the hands of FC Barcelona. The Madrid outfit will be looking to get back to winning ways in this one.

- The man with the biggest smile around Vallecas right now is Manucho. The Angolan hitman is on a hot streak of form which has seen him claim all of his side's last three goals. He netted a brace against Betis and was again on target against Barcelona last time out.

Don't leave Barcelona without...

Now that the weekend crowds have died down, make the most of a quiet Monday to visit the Casa Batllo, one of Antoni Gaudi's masterpieces. Found at number 43 on the Paseo de Gracia, this stunning work has its origins in Gaudi's Naturalist period.
