Deportivo Álaves drew 3-3 with Liga Adelante leaders RC Recreativo de Huelva, meaning the home side are now five games without a win. For their part, Sergi Barjuán’s side take a point having lost their previous two games.
In an intense first half, the visitors went ahead with a Miguel Linares goal in the 7th minute. The Basque side reacted quickly, and Ion Vélez levelled things up. After that, both sides had opportunities, however it was the home side who went ahead for the first time in the tie, Vélez scored again to make it 2-1 just before half time.
The second half was still young when Borja Viguera made it 3-1 to Álaves from the penalty spot following a Jorge Morcillo handball. The visitors refused to give in, and came back to draw the match in the last 10 minutes. Álvaro Antón made it 3-2, and Hernan Menosse secured a point for the league leaders.
