It was an evening of excitement and good football at the Rosaleda in one of the clashes on matchday 13 of the Liga BBVA, in which Real Madrid CF overcame Málaga CF 1-2. With this victory the Whites secured their sixteenth straight win, beating Miguel Muñoz and José Mourinho's record.

The opening stages were very evenly matched with both sides keen to play football, with the visiting team offering glimpses of the firepower they have in attack. Meanwhile, Javi Gracia's men sat back and waited for Real Madrid, aiming to do damage on the counter-attack. After the first quarter of an hour, Karim Benzema finished a nice individual move from Cristiano Ronaldo to make it 0-1. Málaga tried to respond and Duda came close to equalising the game when he hit the crossbar from a great free kick.

In the second half, the Andalusian side managed to stay in the game through Kameni's saves, enabling his team to go after the draw. At this stage of the game Real Madrid were unable to put the match to bed and Málaga looked the more dangerous side. Late on, Gareth Bale made it 0-2 and Isco was sent off. In the last minute, Santa Cruz closed the gap to 1-2. With this result, the Whites remain top of the table with 33 points, while Málaga stay sixth.
