UD Almería and Real Sociedad will get the ball rolling on matchday 24 of the Liga BBVA. The two sides come into this clash separated by just one point and a defeat for either would leave them perilously close to the relegation zone by the end of the weekend’s action. Additionally, the Basques have the extra incentive of registering their first win on the road this season.
Team news
For Almería, Juan Ignacio Martínez will continue to be without the services of injured goalkeeper Rubén Martínez. Also missing this game will be Ángel Trujillo, who has an accumulation of bookings. Meanwhile, for Real Sociedad, David Moyes will be unable to call on Carlos Vela and Mikel González, who are both injured, and there are question marks over Carlos Martínez and Markel Bergara.
Views from the dugouts
Juan Ignacio Martínez used his pre-match press conference to highlight the fact that "Real Sociedad have already beaten Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atlético". He also remarked that this match should act as a "turning point for the team".
David Moyes stressed that his side will try to "exploit Almería’s weaknesses". The Scottish coach also stated that club’s current standing in the league needs to change: "We’re near the bottom of the table at the moment so our priority is to climb the table as soon as possible"
