Team News:
- Real Madrid CF: Pepe, Casemiro, Modric and Keylor Navas (injured).
- Villarreal CF: Roberto Soldado and Cédric Bakambu (injured).
Match Facts:
Real Madrid (1st, 12 pts):
- Zinedine Zidane's team are a juggernaut right now. They have won their last 16 games on the bounce in the Spanish top flight, in the process matching the longest winning streak put together by Pep Guardiola's FC Barcelona. In other words, if they overcome Villarreal, they will break new ground and claim the record for themselves.

- Los Blancos have scored 12 goals in the opening weeks of the LaLiga Santander season and conceded just three times. What's more, with their star attackers all having endured spells on the sidelines, their goals have been spread out amongst a whole host of players. Besides the usual suspects of Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo, James Rodriguez, Sergio Ramos, Pepe, Alvaro Morata, Marco Asensio, Danilo, Toni Kroos and Luka Modric have all hit the net in the league this term.
Villarreal (6th, 8 pts):
- It is not only Real Madrid who go into this big match unbeaten. Fran Escriba's charges have also avoided defeat in domestic action – they kicked off with two draws and have since won their last two fixtures.
- Nicola Sansone was the star of the show in the recent victory over Real Sociedad. The Italian notched up a brace to put the San Sebastian outfit to the sword, including a goal from near the halfway line. The former Sassuolo, Parma and Bayern Munich man will be brimming with confidence as he takes aim at the table-toppers.
