Everything is on the line and there is lots to experience over the next 90 minutes between Real Madrid and Juventus at the Santiago Bernabéu on Wednesday. Carlo Ancelotti’s men, after drawing with Valencia 2-2 in Liga BBVA, will be giving their all to try and turn the tie around and reach the UEFA Champions League final for the second year running.

The second leg sees two legendary sides of European football, with a total of 20 finals played out between them. The Italian outfit will try to maintain their good result from the first leg, while the home side will be hoping that past performances and stats will help them turn the tie on its head.

The last time the two sides met in Madrid was in the group stage last season 23 October 2013, and Madrid came away 2-1 winners, a result which would send this tie into extra time. Of their 29 games played against Italian sides, 21 have been Real Madrid wins, something which counts in their favour when looking to qualify.

Real Madrid have scored in their last 23 UCL games at the Santiago Bernabéu

Madrid are no strangers to beating the side from Turin in big games, having won their seventh European Cup 1-0 against Juventus with a goal from Predrag Mijatović. Also, the Whites have scored in their last 23 games as the home side in this competition and of the 36 knockout ties played at Real Madrid’s home ground, they have gone through in 22.

Juventus will be looking to reach their first final in over a decade

The Italian outfit last played in the Champions League final in the 2002-03 season when they lost against AC Milan on penalties. Now, 12 years on, Massimilliano Allegri’s side will not be wanting to miss the boat to Berlin. The side from Turin won the first leg 2-1, a result which has previously always seen the Bianconeri qualify.

Juve have not conceded in their last three Champions League ties away from home, and they have won 33 of the 41 knockout ties they won the first leg at home in. The game against the Italians will force Carlo Ancelotti’s side to show their best if they want to reach the final of Europe’s premier club competition.
