The sharp end of the Champions League is upon us and after Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid booked their semi-final berths on Tuesday all attention now turns to FC Barcelona as Luis Enrique’s look to give LaLiga three representatives in the last four of Europe’s premier club competition for the first time since the turn of the century.
Barcelona really have their work cut out, requiring another historic comeback on Wednesday night if they are to reach the semi-finals. Following a crushing 3-0 defeat in the first leg, the Catalans will hope that a rocking Camp Nou, the magic of the MSN and the team's wounded pride will inspire an epic turnaround against a fiercely competitive Juventus FC side, for whom evergreen captain Gianluigi Buffon has been a rock between the sticks.
On Tuesday night, Real Madrid overcame Bayern Munich 4-2 in extra time (6-3 agg.) thanks to a Cristiano Ronaldo hat-trick while Saul scored Atleti’s 100th Champions League goal to see Diego Simeone’s side past Leicester City at the King Power Stadium (2-1 agg.).
