Real Betis and Athletic Club drew and Eibar returned to winning ways

The pre-season match day on Thursday caused different feelings among the three clubs of the Liga BBVA playing. Real Betis and Athletic Club de Bilbao drew in a typical Liga BBVA fight. Ernesto Valverde’s squad started the game with better pace and it did not take them long to take the lead thanks to an early goal scored by Kike Sola. The Andalusians could barely keep up in the first half but they improved considerably in the second one, when Alvaro Cejudo got the equaliser in one of the most demanding matches for both teams until now.

For its part, SD Eibar could get over the defeat in Ipurua against Celtic with a 0-1 victory against UD Logroñes. Mikel Arruabarrena’s accurate heading gave the ‘armero’ squad the victory six minutes before the end of the match.
