Pepe Mel is no longer coach of RC Deportivo. The club announced the decision in a statement on their website on Tuesday afternoon.

The move comes after a 2-1 home defeat to LaLiga Santander newcomers Girona FC on Monday night. The result left the side in 16th place in the table. Cristobal Parralo, coach of the youth side RC Deportivo Fabril, will take over as interim coach.
