- The Rojiblancos have got the better of Espanyol in the sides' previous five LaLiga Santander meetings at the Vicente Calderon. What's more, in the last four of these clashes, the hosts have managed to record clean sheets.
- Atletico's forward line is one of the most potent in the division.
