Official Statement
LUN 12.12.2016
In light of the incidents which took place on Saturday night at Valencia CF's Paterna training ground upon the arrival of the Valencia CF team coach, as well as when the players left the complex in their own vehicles, LaLiga wishes to express its complete rejection of this sort of behaviour, as well as its total support for the club and its players. No circumstances can justify these acts of violence, which should be banished from the game.
As such, LaLiga supports the statement released by Valencia CF in which the club underlines that these individuals are not representative of a fan base which seeks an improvement in the club's on-field plight by offering their support and encouragement. The incidents were carried out by members of the radical group ULTRA YOMUS, which has no link with Valencia CF, whilst both the group and individual members have previously been reported to the authorities for their involvement in other violent incidents.
LaLiga's integrity and security department are currently leading investigations into these events and their perpetrators, who are set to be handed over to the National Police and the State Commission against Violence, Racism, Xenophobia and Intolerance in Sport, for said bodies to enforce the appropriate sanctions.
