Official Statement

In relation to the elections called for the presidency of the Liga Nacional de Futbol Profesional, in accordance with statutory provisions, regulations and the electoral calendar, the Electoral Commission reached the following agreements at its meeting this morning:

1º.- Having examined Javier Tebas Medrano's candidacy and noted that it was submitted on time and complies with statutory precepts and applicable regulations, Javier Tebas Medrano is provisionally announced as president of the Liga Nacional de Futbol Profesional.

2º.- The secretary of the Electoral Commission has been informed that, in accordance with the first paragraph of article 4, book II of the General Regulations of the Liga Nacional de Futbol Profesional, she can proceed with notifying Mr Tebas Medrano, as well as all LaLiga members, of the above agreement.

3º.- In keeping with the electoral calendar, 10:30 CET on 11 October is confirmed for the next Electoral Commission meeting, which will aim to rule on any appeals against the provisional announcement – provided these are submitted by 20:00 CET on 10 October – and, if appropriate, proceed with the definitive announcement of the LaLiga president.
