Nominees for the 'Best attacking midfielder in the 2013-14 Liga Adelante'

The calibre and quality performances of Ayoze Pérez, Juan Carlos Valerón and Jota Peleteiro have earned them a nomination for the award for the 'Best attacking midfielder in the 2013-14 Liga Adelante' at the '2014 LFP Awards Ceremony', which will be broadcast on La Sexta (22:30).

Ayoze Pérez was one of the surprise packages in the Liga Adelante last season. His pace and eye for goal made him a key player for CD Tenerife, where he played a total of 36 matches in the Liga Adelante and scored 15 goals to make him the island team's top scorer. His performances in the Liga Adelante earned the midfielder from Tenerife a transfer to the Premier League, where he joined Newcastle United last June.

Experience, talent and vision are the greatest strengths of Juan Carlos Valerón, one of the architects of UD Las Palmas' 2013-14 campaign in which they reached the promotion playoffs. At 39 years of age, the midfielder from Arguineguín, a household name in Spanish football, became one of Sergio Lobera’s most important players, playing a total of 37 matches, scoring 3 goals and providing three assists in what turned out to be a great season for the veteran midfielder.

The third nominee for the accolade is Jota Peleteiro. The young gun from Celta's academy, who is currently playing for Brentford FC, was one of the stars of the Liga Adelante last season and a key figure in SD Eibar's promotion to the Liga BBVA. He became an essential member of Gaizka Garitano's squad. Shooting and set-pieces are this young Spanish player's calling cards.
