Africa has given some great players to football, and Liga BBVA has the pleasure of having some of the continent’s finest on its pitches. Yacine Brahimi, Youssef El-Arabi and Stéphane M'Bia are the three nominated for the 'Best African Player in the 2013-14 Liga BBVA' Award, the winner of which will be revealed at the '2014 LFP Awards Gala' on 27 October.
24-year-old midfielder Yacine Brahimi had a sensational season with Granada CF. He scored three times, including the winner in a famous victory at Nuevo Los Cármenes over FC Barcelona.
Another major player in the Andalusian side maintaining their position in Liga BBVA was Youssef El-Arabi. In his second season with the side, he showed he was able to score goals with both feet, and his head, netting 12 times in 36 games; four with his left, four with his right and four with his head.
Completing the list is Stéphane M'Bia. The Cameroonian became a key man for Unai Emery at Sevilla FC. His work in the middle of the park helped the side win the UEFA Europa League and have a great season in Liga BBVA.
