The ball is rolling in the 3rd LaLiga Promises International Tournament with the skyline of the city of Newark, New Jersey providing the perfect backdrop. The 12 participating clubs put on a superb spectacle for the public as they gave us an exhibition of their talents out on the pitch.
The crowds began to arrive early in the morning to enjoy a day of glorious football, on which they would get to follow the development of the future international stars of the sport from up close.
FC Barcelona, Villarreal CF, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Sevilla FC and Valencia CF were LaLiga's representatives in a tournament which has generated great expectation in New Jersey. The other teams representing their respective countries around the world were Ironbound SC, Atletico Nacional, FC Internazionale Milano, Club America, New York City FC and SL Benfica, all of whom demonstrated their great quality.
The footballers showed that talent, teamwork, desire and fair play transcend borders and inspired admiration among the spectators who turned up for the first day of a tournament which promises to keep them on the edge of their seats right through to the end.
The competition, with yet another edition made possible thanks to LaLiga and the Jose Ramon de la Morena Foundation, will be present on social media via the official #LaLigaPromises hashtag, with full coverage also being provided by LaLiga TV, the LaLiga YouTube channel and LaSexta.
