Mauricio Pellegrino is the new coach at CD Leganes

CD Leganes have appointed Mauricio Pellegrino to be their first-team coach next season in LaLiga Santander.

The Argentine replaces Asier Garitano, who stepped down last month, and has agreed a contract until 30 June 2019.

Pellegrino, 46, has coached at Valencia CF and D. Alaves, and had a successful career as a player too. He won a league title with FC Barcelona and two with Valencia CF, as well as a Copa del Rey and UEFA Cup.
