Match Facts:
D. Alvavés (12th, 9 pts):
- Alaves are looking to build on their home form, not having lost a LaLiga Santander game at their own stadium this season. They have taken two draws and a win from their three games at Mendizorroza, conceding just one goal in the process.
- Along with Atletico Madrid and SD Eibar, the Basque side are the only other team who have conceded just once at their home ground. Furthermore, only three other teams have conceded fewer goals in total this season in LaLiga Santander.
- Mauricio Pellegrino's charges have produced two victories, three draws and two defeats in their seven games so far this term, and they have taken home points from tricky visits to the Vicente Calderon and the Camp Nou.
Malaga CF (14th, 8 pts):
- Malaga, on the other hand, have yet to register a win on the road this season. Three away games in LaLiga Santander 2016/17 have ended in one draw and two defeats for Juande Ramos's men.
- However, the Andalusian outfit have run out winners in two of their previous five trips to Alaves in LaLiga Santander. There has never been a draw between the two sides at Mendizorroza in the competition.
- On the last matchday, their Portuguese winger Duda became the oldest player to score and provide an assist in the same LaLiga Santander game, and he scored against Alaves in the last meeting between the two sides in the competition over a decade ago.
