Malaga CF have announced that the departure of coach Marcelo Romero. The Andalusian side are in the midst of a mixed run of form, suffering three defeats in their last three games.

Romero took charge of the side ahead of Matchday 17 in early January following the departure of previous coach Juande Ramos. On his watch, Malaga have won just one game, drawn two and lost seven. The Uruguayan leaves the team in 15th place in the LaLiga Santander table with 26 points, seven points clear of the relegation zone.
In an official statement, Malaga CF paid tribute to “Marcelo Romero for his dedication, honesty and effort for the colours and the Club to which he will continue to be associated, and where he will always call home."
