In Sunday’s morning fixture, the Andalusian side, who were already 3-0 up at half time, played some good football to beat the team from Vallecas, who were very unfortunate. Málaga CF have climbed towards the European spots after beating Rayo Vallecano 4-0 in their fixture on matchday 9 of the Liga BBVA, held at the Rosaleda Stadium.
With a great atmosphere in the terraces, the Andalusian side steamrollered the team from the Madrid district of Vallecas from the start. Samu Castillejo could have made it 1-0 in the first minute of play, were it not for Antonio Amaya clearing from between the sticks. However, in the sixth minute, Samuel made no mistake with a strike that touched Zé Castro and found its way into the back of Toño’s net. In the 21st minute, with Málaga running the show, Sergi Darder made it 2-0, and before the break, when Rayo seemed to be fighting their way back into the game, Juanmi scored a fine goal to make it 3-0.
With the second half just underway, Málaga’s fourth goal came when Nordin Amrabat scored a penalty committed by Amaya. With the game wrapped up, the Andalusians continued to look for goals, while Gäel Kakuta had Rayo’s first chance in the 76th minute with a shot that was easily stopped by Carlos Kameni. There were no more goals, but Málaga claimed their third victory on the trot in the Liga BBVA to position themselves in the top part of the division. Rayo will remain mid-table.
