Liga de Fútbol Profesional president Javier Tebas was a guest on the programme 'Marca España', broadcast on Radio Exterior de España, to explain to listeners all over the world about the importance of the programme of support, LFP World Challenge.
For Javier Tebas, "the relationship between businesses and football has been very good, it is a unique project in Europe and the world". It is estimated that up to 140,000 businesses could participate in the LFP World Challenge, declared an Event of Exceptional Public Interest by the Government. "The project will be financed by the support of participating businesses and with an annual budget of €20m”, continued the LFP president.
This project will help the internationalisation and the diffusion of Spanish businesses. "We will take advantage of the pull that clubs have where we go. It is a very important tool to get introduced to the world and become established in other markets".
Thanks to this project, LFP clubs will play against foreign sides in an international tournament from the 2014/15 preseason until 2016/17. Also, The Spanish Experience will organise seminars, congresses and another series of similar activities. "With Marca España and football, we will be able to help businesses enormously", added Tebas.
Also, it will not only serve as a shop window for the big sides: "The medium-sized and small clubs will grow and can get sponsors to help win fans and investment". Finally, Tebas said "football owes Spanish society what society is giving it through support".
