On Monday 8 September the president of the Liga de Fútbol Profesional, Javier Tebas, will join the working group responsible for analysing the international calendar for 2018/2014.
The main issue to be discussed will be moving the FIFA World Cup to the winter months. Another point on the agenda will be the dates of the FIFA Qatar 2022 World Cup. They will analyse the consequences of the possible change to the traditional period of June and July for the national leagues of each country.
The six international federations, as well as the clubs, leagues and players’ unions, will be represented in this meeting.
The committee will be chaired by the president of the Asian Football Confederation, Salmán Bin Ibrahim al Jalifa, and it will take place at the FIFA headquarters in Zurich (Switzerland) from 10 am.
