CS Maritimo 1-2 UD Las Palmas
The Canary Islanders played the Portuguese side in their opening game of the 31st Maspalomas International Tournament, a three-way competition that also involved Serie A side Cagliari.
The game started well for Las Palmas. Vicente Gomez broke the deadlock on 18 minutes and they held that lead until half time. Although Baba Diawara equalised for Maritimo after the break, Las Palmas held fast and Pedro Bigas headed home to seal the win.
Burnley FC 1-1 Real Sociedad
The Basque side continued their pre-season preparations away to Burnley at Turf Moor, where the home side left it late to level the game. Real Sociedad dominated the first half and went in 1-0 up at the break courtesy of Raul Navas' 31st-minute header, but Andre Gray's 88th-minute equaliser denied them victory.
