Ahead of today’s season kick-off, fans from each of the three promoted clubs visited the UK office in King’s Cross to install their crests and continue an annual ceremony which has now taken place four years in a row.
Supporters Endika Mentejo (CD Alaves), Veronica Docoure (UD Las Palmas) and Fran Martin-Martinez (Granada CF) were chosen to display their club’s crests alongside other teams competing in both LALIGA EA SPORTS and LALIGA HYPERMOTION this season.
Thrilled to see his team, CD Alaves, back in the top-flight, Endika Mentejo said: “It feels amazing to be back in LALIGA, we are super proud. It has been a really challenging couple of years. The team symbolises the spirit of the city”.
Veronica Docoure, supporter of UD Las Palmas, added: “It’s a very deep happiness, we’re very passionate about it. Las Palmas is like a religion to us, we are so passionate about our club.”
Fran Martin-Martinez, Granada CF supporter, is also looking forward to seeing his team playing in LALIGA EA SPORTS: “My dad bought me to the stadium when I was a kid, so I grew up feeling connected to my club. LALIGA is a competition followed worldwide so that makes it special.”
Keegan Pierce, LALIGA UK & Ireland delegate, said: “As we embark on a new era for LALIGA EA SPORTS, it was a real privilege to welcome fans from newly promoted CD Alaves, UD Las Palmas, and Granada CF to our offices in London. We were delighted to share the celebrations of their recent promotion and invite them to put their clubs crest on display along with the other LALIGA EA SPORTS and LALIGA HYPERMOTION teams.”
The new LALIGA EA SPORTS season begins today, Friday 11th August with Almeria vs Rayo Vallecano, available to watch on Viaplay with kick off time at 18:30 BST.
