LaLiga will be one of the stars of the opening day at the Sportel Asia convention, which takes place in Singapore from 15 to 17 March. The Shangri-La Hotel will host the world's biggest and best-known sports competitions and institutions at what is set to be the most prestigious sports convention on the planet.
With its presence at this year's Sportel convention, LaLiga cements its place as a global brand alongside the likes of the NBA and the NFL, Europe's biggest football leagues such as the Bundesliga, and international organisations including the International Olympic Committee. Some of the biggest TV networks, including beIN Sports, ESPN and Eurosport will also be there in Singapore.
Liga BBVA ambassador Christian Karembeu will join Shen Yanfei, European table tennis champion and a representative of Champions of Spain - part of the LFP World Challenge framework -, as part of the LaLiga expedition attending Sportel Asia, alongside Javier Tebas, the LaLiga president, Ignacio Martínez Trujillo, its Strategic Projects Director, and Fernando Sanz, LaLiga's Global Ambassador and Director of MENA and International Projects.
Sportel Asia opens its doors on Monday with a heavy LaLiga presence amongst its exhibitors. Javier Tebas will give his "Global Innovation to Improve Content and to Add Value to Audiovisual Rights" talk on Wednesday. In it, the president will explain how LaLiga has changed in line with fans' demands and how it has followed key trends to anticipate, through innovation, and offer followers everything that they want to hear, see and feel.
LaLiga will also be represented on the "Virtual Reality, UHD and the future of sports content delivery" panel, with Ignacio Martinez Trujillo, LaLiga's Strategic Projects Director. Martinez Trujillo will speak on the panel which will explain how the sports content marketplace is being transformed by two new technologies: UHD and virtual reality, and how these will create new business opportunities for sports organisations.
