LaLiga to step up battle against piracy during #ElClasico weekend, with over 2,000 inspections on the cards

LaLiga will be redoubling its usual efforts to fight TV fraud.

LaLiga's work to protect subscribers to football on pay TV and its broadcasters continues unabated, and indeed the organisation will be running a special operation during LaLiga Santander Matchday 14 and LaLiga 1|2|3 Matchday 17 to clamp down on illegal screenings of games at public establishments, specifically in the so-called HORECA (hotels, restaurants and cafeterias) sector.

On this note, in addition to the usual ongoing monitoring, more than 2,000 inspections are set to be carried out this weekend with a view to combating fraud and piracy. These checks will take in the entire country, with a focus on hotspots where significant volumes of infractions have been recorded in the past.

With this operation, LaLiga is once again evidencing its commitment to defending consumers who subscribe to the range of television packages available to enjoy both competitions legally. To this effect, the organisation will be striving to ensure that all the relevant legal criteria and conditions of service are complied with for the showing of the various games contested this matchday, with special attention paid to El Clasico.
