LaLiga speaks in Europe and always has made it firmly. In the past five years, the Spanish teams have raised three titles. FC Barcelona won its fourth Champions (10-11), Real Madrid picked up the torch in the 13/14 course, that was the Barcelona's to return to conquer another one in the 14/15 edition. Barcelona and Real Madrid have managed to put the old continent at their feet and shows the power of Liga BBVA in the world.

Although the white team is at the moment the team with more European Cups in their cabinets (10), since 2010 the presence of the Spanish teams in the final rounds of the competition has been quite usual.

In this first season (2010), LaLiga was represented with three teams, and the semifinal disputed between Catalans and "blancos", left Real Madrid out of title race, but would put a representative in the final. The men led by Pep Guardiola won against Manchester United (3-1), one of the four English teams that competed that season in prestigious tournament.

In 2011, Valencia CF and Villarreal CF were cut out in the group stage. Barcelona and Real Madrid came close to taste the sweetness of success, but both were left on the doorstep of a final that was won by Chelsea FC against Bayern Munich.

The next edition saw the "che" team not getting in the last 16, Málaga CF ended up in quarter final and Barcelona and Real Madrid could not get in to the last match that decides the champion. A German final between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund put the Bavarians on top.

The 2013 edition would be one of the most successful for LaLiga teams. Besides being two Spanish sides in the final between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, it was the first in history between teams from the same city. The white team won its tenth Champions and demonstrated the supremacy of domestic participants in this competition.

A year later, the team from Barcelona would go to Berlin to close the circle opened in 2010 and to lift another Champions League again, that would put La Liga as the championship with most successful teams in the Champions League.

This season and after Valencia qualifying, LaLiga placed for the first time in the competition so far, five of their clubs in the Champions League. A fact that it has never happened before.
