LaLiga continues to step up its presence in India on the back of opening its first office in the country in September. Delhi and Mumbai are the two cities that have been chosen to stage live viewings of the match between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid on 3 December. Thousands of local fans will be flocking to the venues to enjoy all the thrills and spills of #ElClasico, plus much more.
Both clubs have huge fan bases in India and for the first time their supporters in the country have the chance to get a kick out of an authentic #ElClasico extravaganza. The events, which will respectively be taking place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi and theKhar Gymkhana in Mumbai, will see all of the action on the pitch shown on giant screens. In addition, there will be a host of fan engagement activities and, to top it all off, those in attendance will be able to interact with a LaLiga legend: Luis Garcia will be joining in the fun in Delhi, while LaLiga ambassador Frederic Kanoute will be gracing the occasion in Mumbai.
The proceedings have been organised hand in hand with Sony Pictures Networks India, LaLiga's official broadcaster in the country. Rajesh Kaul, the company's president of distribution and sports, noted that, "#ElClasico is one of the most-watched sporting events in the world every year and we're giving those football fans who can't see the game live at the Camp Nou the opportunity to really experience one of the most eagerly awaited matches of the season."
