LaLiga takes part in SIGA General Assembly

The Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA), a coalition that is in the process of getting off the ground and of which LaLiga is a member, held its General Assembly today in London. More than 40 organisations were in attendance at the event, which concluded with the signing of SIGA's statutes.

SIGA, a non-profit alliance, seeks to take the lead on and promote good governance in sport, as well as to safeguard the integrity of sport, through the adoption, implementation and monitoring of a series of Core Principles and Universal Standards concerning governance and financial integrity, among other issues.

LaLiga has been involved in SIGA since its very first meeting, in New York in 2015. The area in which LaLiga has been most active so far has been as part of the group created to tackle the matter of sports betting integrity.

LaLiga's contribution to this international movement reflects its dedication to searching for the best possible management models and its commitment to keeping sport clean. It is LaLiga's belief that these are not mere goals, but rather imperatives for all bodies, public or private, that play any sort of role in the organisation and management of sport.
