LaLiga continues to educate young footballers through a range of ongoing integrity and social-media management workshops. The latest of these was held at La Masia, where Rodrigo Arias, a member of LaLiga's Integrity and Security Department, gave a talk on social-media management for youth-team coaches and the FC Barcelona academy.
The talk centred on the need for awareness among families and coaches of the issues at play in young players' use of social media. The message outlined was that, while social networks are a powerful tool for personal and professional engagement in the football world, for this very reason, they should be used carefully and in moderation.
Back in December, this workshop was given to several teams from the Azulgranas youth ranks, while this time round it was the turn of the La Masia coaching staff. The aim of the session is to teach the whole football family about the importance of respect, values and non-violence. Furthermore, the idea is that using social media responsibly will boost young players' chances of succeeding in professional sport and, more importantly, make them better people.
