LALIGA once again brings its strength and visibility to the Spanish Association Against Cancer’s “Bracelets of Hope” initiative, a campaign that this year celebrates its third anniversary under the slogan “The symbol that unites us”, with the aim of continuing to raise awareness across society.
On the occasion of World Cancer Day, which is observed on 4 February, LALIGA will carry out various actions during matchdays 22 and 23 of LALIGA EA SPORTS and matchdays 24 and 25 of LALIGA HYPERMOTION, as well as in LALIGA GENUINE Moeve, which will hold its second host venue of the season in Cádiz on 31 January and 1 February, further reinforcing its commitment to a cause of great social impact.
During these matchdays, players from LALIGA clubs will take to the pitch wearing a green armband as a symbol of hope, support and unity in the fight against cancer. This green ribbon will also be worn by coaching staff, referees and the media in order to maximise its visibility. The aim of this action is to turn the armband into a shared symbol that helps raise awareness of the disease and highlights the importance of more human, close and comprehensive care for people with cancer and their families, using sport and its broad social reach as a tool for unity and awareness.
With this initiative, LALIGA strengthens its commitment to a campaign that has evolved into a symbol of unity and social awareness, once again demonstrating the role of professional football as a driver of visibility and social transformation.
