LaLiga Legends arrive in Iran

LaLiga's growth throughout the world just goes on and on. On Thursday afternoon, a squad of former LaLiga icons, including the likes of Gaizka Mendieta, David Albelda and Fernando Morientes, will pit their wits against an Iranian All-Stars side in the opening game of a new venture for this team of veterans.

In spite of the squad touching down in the Iranian capital in the early hours of Wednesday morning, the LaLiga legends were left in no doubt as to the massive levels of interest surrounding Spanish football in Iran. A large number of Iranian television crews were on hand to interview the former LaLiga stars and they made the most of the opportunity to take photos of the former heroes, who throughout the day will be joined by more members of the Legends squad.
