LaLiga launches innovative new game combining puzzle format and football

LaLiga has teamed up with Panini to launch LaLiga Puzzle Quest, the organisation's third game and seventh application to hit official app stores. The first game of its kind, LaLiga Puzzle Quest offers a match made in heaven. The goal is to beat your opponents by scoring points through matching different coloured tiles on the puzzle board.

The application is available worldwide on Google Play and the App Store and can be used in nine different languages (Spanish, German, Chinese, Korean, French, English, Italian, Japanese and Portuguese), which reflects LaLiga's commitment to international expansion and its concerted efforts on this front.

The game features fun caricatures of LaLiga players, just like the hugely popular Head Soccer. Users can sign players, train them up and improve their special powers to build the best possible squad. You can also challenge people from all over the planet to showcase your skills and unlock new possibilities. LaLiga Puzzle Quest can be played online or offline, and in two compelling modes: League Mode and Events Mode.

Events Mode includes two events a week, one in midweek and the other at the weekend. To make them more relevant, these events tie into matchdays from the real world. By playing in and winning these challenges, users have the chance to add players from the match of the week to their squads. The first of them recreates El Clasico and the best users will receive a Real Madrid or FC Barcelona player as a reward.

There is also a system of collectible cards that can be deployed to improve players or recharge their energy when they are tired. Inspired by Panini stickers, card packs offer special powers, skills, the chance to level up and evolve your players, or coins and gems to help you progress in the game.

With LaLiga Puzzle Quest, you can create your own team and puzzle your way to victory. Match tiles of the same colour to keep your opponent at bay, kick the ball up the pitch and try to score a goal. Above the puzzle board, you can see the value of each move you make, which depends on the colour and combination of the tiles in question. When you're playing in your own half, on the left-hand side of the pitch, the defensive tiles are worth more points, whereas in the opposition half, moves using attacking tiles are more powerful.
