Matchday 9 of the LaLiga Santander campaign served up some exciting games between teams high in the table, as well as some surprises and impressive individual performances from several players which saw them join the LaLiga Fantasy MARCA Matchday 9 Best XI.
Malaga CF were one of the weekend's standout teams and they have four players in the Best XI, including the Player of the Matchday, Sandro Ramirez. The Canary Islander had an outstanding game which he capped with a goal and an assistin the 4-0 win over CD Leganes. Sandro is this week's top points scorer with a total of 17.
The starting goalkeeping spot in this week's team went to his Malaga teammate Carlos Kameni, whose impressive performance saw him take 11 points as his team romped to victory at home to Leganes.
In defence, R Sporting's Jorge Mere (12 points) partners Real Sociedad's Raul Navas (11) and Sevilla FC full-back Mariano (11).
Every midfielder in the Best XI managed to get on the scoresheet over the weekend. Fabian Orellana put in a sterling performance for RC Celta against RC Deportivo in a thrilling Galician derby, racking up 16 points in the process, while Steven N'Zonzi netted the winner for Sevilla against Atletico Madrid which set him on his way to a 13-point return. Ignacio Camacho and Chory Castro also found the back of the net, completing an in-form quartet of Malaga stars, with the midfield maestros each registering 12 points.
Sandro is joined in attack by Sergi Enrich (14), who chipped in with a goal and an assist in SD Eibar's draw against RCD Espanyol, and Celta's Iago Aspas (13), whose brace struck down local rivals Deportivo.
