Glorious goals, devilish dribbling, extreme emotions and stunning saves are all synonymous with LaLiga Santander, as proven by yet another thrilling weekend of action. It's now time to take a look at the LaLiga Fantasy MARCA Best XI for Matchday 7.
It was a simply unforgettable weekend for D. Alaves, with the Basque side racking up their first win of the campaign, resulting in no fewer than three members of the team featuring in the Best XI, more than any other club. They are joined by representatives from CD Leganes, Sevilla FC, RC Celta, Villarreal CF, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. The Player of the Matchday from the seventh round of LaLiga Santander fixtures is none other than Lionel Messi. The Argentine scored two of Barcelona's three goals in their comfortable win over UD Las Palmas.
Sevilla shotstopper David Soria gets the nod between the sticks, having produced a standout performance to keep Malaga CF at bay at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan with a string of fine saves.
Two Leganes defenders, Joseba Zaldua and Dimitris Siovas, earned their place in the rearguard, having helped the team earn an invaluable point by keeping out a potent Atletico Madrid attack. They are joined by Alaves left-back Ruben Duarte who played a key role in the club's first league win of the campaign.
There is also an Alaves feel to the midfield, thanks to Alvaro Medran, the goalscoring hero against Levante UD, and Alfonso Pedraza. They are joined by Villarreal's Manu Trigueros, Celta's Daniel Wass who got on the scoresheet against Girona FC, and Real Madrid's Isco who notched a brace at the Bernabeu against RCD Espanyol.
Messi and Cedric Bakambu form a potent striking force, having racked up five goals between them over the weekend. The Argentine superstar registered a brace at the Camp Nou and is the leading goalscorer in LaLiga Santander, with 11 strikes. The Frenchman, meanwhile, produced a sublime performance in the 3-0 victory over SD Eibar, netting an impressive hat-trick for the home side.
