With another fantastic round of LaLiga Santander fixtures behind us, the time has come to reveal the LaLiga Fantasy MARCA 32 Best XI. Isco is the Player of the Matchday on this occasion after picking up a grand total of 21 points.
Atletico Madrid and Athletic Club are the most represented teams this time round, contributing a pair of players apiece: Filipe Luis and Yannick Carrasco are the two Atletico representatives in the lineup, while Athletic supply Mikel San Jose and Iker Muniain.
Salvatore Sirigu is the obvious occupant between the sticks this matchday, despite his CA Osasuna side losing heavily at the Calderon. The Italian caught the eye – and earnt 15 points – by preventing an even more emphatic defeat, including remarkably saving two penalties in as many minutes.
The four-man defence ahead of Sirigu comprises RC Deportivo's Luisinho (14 points) and the aforementioned Filipe Luis (15) at full-back, either side of a centre-back partnership featuring Mikel San Jose alongside RCD Espanyol's Diego Reyes (both 15).
Three classy schemers with the ability to unlock opposition backlines slot in across the middle of the park. Isco notched twice against R. Sporting, the second of which was a dramatic stoppage-time winner, en route to amassing his 21-point tally. He is joined by Mikel Vesga (13 points), who scored one of the goals of the matchday for Sporting in that same encounter and also served up an assist. Yannick Carrasco, for his part, also bagged a brace at the weekend, helping to put Osasuna to the sword with one of his finest performances of the campaign.
Lastly, Lionel Messi leads the line for the Best XI yet again after another inspirational display for FC Barcelona, chalking up two of the Catalans' goals in their 3-2 win over Real Sociedad. Accompanying the Argentine up front are Muniain (14), another man who hit a double over the weekend, and Claudio Beauvue (13), who rounded off RC Celta's rout of Granada CF.
