After another riveting round of LaLiga Santander action, all that remains is to run through the latest LaLiga Fantasy MARCA Best XI. Getafe CF and UD Las Palmas are the major movers and shakers this time round following both clubs' superb performances over the weekend.
Los Azulones are the dominant force in this lineup, contributing no fewer than four of its 11 members, followed by the Canary Islanders with two. Athletic Club, Real Madrid, D. Alaves, CD Leganes and RC Celta, for their part, all have one representative apiece. Meanwhile, the Player of the Matchday is Alaves's Ibai, who was the star of the show in his side's crucial victory over Girona FC, bagging a hat-trick.
Getafe custodian Vicente Guaita certainly earned his place between the Best XI sticks. The veteran pulled off several stellar stops to help the Madrilenians inflict a first defeat of the season on high-flying Valencia CF.
Unsurprisingly, Getafe are also represented in defence, with their centre-back partnership of Djene and Bruno having been equally instrumental in their 1-0 win, repeatedly repelling Los Che's attacks. They are joined by Athletic's Unai Nuñez and Real Madrid's Raphael Varane, who were two of the most impressive performers in the stalemate between Los Leones and Los Blancos at San Mames, their decisive interventions and poise being a big reason why the clash ended goalless.
All four members of the midfield had a huge influence on proceedings during their respective encounters, headed by Player of the Matchday Ibai, whose treble sank Girona. Alongside him are Markel Bergara, who notched the only goal of the game for Getafe against Valencia; Gabriel, who sealed Leganes's victory over Villarreal CF; and Tana, who played a vital role in Las Palmas's win against Real Betis.
Last but not least comes a dynamic attacking duo consisting of Iago Aspas and Jonathan Calleri. The Celta star took the Camp Nou by storm, opening the scoring to kick-start a sparkling overall display. Calleri, on the other hand, put a smile back on the faces of Las Palmas fans, his solitary strike against Betis proving enough to end the islanders' nine-game winless streak.
