Matchday 10 of the LaLiga Santander season served up a plethora of intriguing encounters, a raft of goals (30 in total), the odd surprise and no shortage of fine individual displays and with the action all done and dusted, it's now time to reveal the Fantasy MARCA Matchday 10 Best XI.
Atletico Madrid, RCD Espanyol and SD Eibar were the standout teams this weekend and, unsurprisingly, over half of the Best XI lineup has been drawn from these three clubs, with each team contributing two players. Fine performances from Atletico duo Yannick Carrasco and Kevin Gameiro see them clinch their spots in the side, meanwhile Diego Lopez and Diego Reyes were the pick of the bunch for the Catalans, whilst Eibar's Florian Lejeune and Ivan Ramis also did enough to make the cut.
On this occasion, the Player of the Matchday is Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese forward collected 18 points courtesy of a devastating display in Real Madrid's 4-1 victory over D. Alaves, which included a hat-trick. Furthermore, Ronaldo's treble ensured that Los Blancos remain top of the pile for a further matchday.
Between the sticks Diego Lopez gets the nod after his heroics against Real Betis, which included a spectacular last-gasp save, yielded him 12 points. The three-man defence in front of him is made up of his teammate, Diego Reyes - who amassed 17 points -, Lejeune (15) and Ramis (11).
All of the midfield quartet in this week's Best XI managed to get their names on the scoresheet last time out. Carrasco played an instrumental role in the Rojiblancos' triumph over Malaga CF, notching a brace en route to claiming 15 points. Elsewhere, Rafinha chalked up 12 points in a performance which saw him hit the winner as FC Barcelona edged past Granada CF. Xabi Prieto and Jonathan Viera were also on target in this round of fixtures and the pair, who posted 13-point showings, complete a formidable-looking midfield.
Taking their places alongside Ronaldo in attack are Gameiro (13), who was also at the double against Malaga, and Iago Aspas (17), who netted twice in RC Celta's thrilling 3-3 draw at UD Las Palmas.
