LaLiga clubs to have use of AutomaticTV tool for tactical analysis

LaLiga is set to equip all 42 LaLiga Santander and LaLiga 1|2|3 clubs with AutomaticTV, a technological solution providing automated production of footage for tactical purposes. This new tool, which was developed by MEDIAPRO, is to be installed at all the stadiums in LaLiga, which will gain their own tactical-camera feed in Full HD. By incorporating this innovation, LaLiga and MEDIAPRO are taking another step forward in their strategy of providing clubs with state-of-the-art technological advances to facilitate detailed game analysis, enabling them to dissect both their own tactical performance and that of their opponents.

Thanks to the cameras that will be installed at every LaLiga stadium and the special software created by MEDIAPRO, tactical content will be automatically produced during every match in the top two tiers of Spanish football. Clubs' technical staff will therefore be able to analyse how a game is unfolding live, as well as having the power to edit videos on the fly.

After full time, the footage from these cameras will be automatically imported into the Mediacoach system and made available to every club so that they can improve their performance. Mediacoach, a cutting-edge video-analysis tool developed jointly by LaLiga and MEDIAPRO, is already in use by all the clubs in LaLiga Santander and LaLiga 1|2|3 alike.

"LaLiga continues to strive to be at the forefront when it comes to audiovisual technology, always with a view to benefiting our clubs and public limited sports companies [SADs], for whom this technology will be very useful, as well as our fans, giving them something extra such as with our broadcasting innovations," said LaLiga president Javier Tebas.

AutomaticTV tracks all the action out on the pitch and provides viewpoints that always include all of the players on the field. The resulting tactical shots will also be shared with television broadcasters so that they can deploy them to illustrate teams' tactical approaches, both during games and in dedicated analysis shows.
