A new season is on the horizon and all 42 LaLiga clubs are looking to foster loyalty among fans to get them on side and guarantee their backing throughout the fast-approaching campaign. That is why many of them have launched special promotions in a bid to reward supporter loyalty through membership schemes.
The three clubs to have made the biggest push are R. Valladolid CF, RCD Mallorca y Levante UD. Valladolid will offer a free season ticket in 2017/18 to every fan who renews before 24 July, provided that the team clinch promotion to LaLiga, and they will also freeze season-ticket prices for all new members who sign up before that date if the club does reach the top flight in a scheme closely mirrored by Mallorca and Levante.
The islanders are also giving supporters who purchase season tickets for 2016/17 and attend at least 85% of home fixtures the chance to renew for free for the following campaign, as long as the club is promoted. Levante are running a similar scheme as well, after dropping down to LaLiga2, as fans who go to 18 or more league matches will be rewarded with a free season ticket for the following year should the team go straight back up.
Although they are the most eye-catching offers, they are definitely not the only ones. CD Leganes have opted to reward fan loyalty by providing considerable discounts on season tickets for their inaugural LaLiga experience to all supporters who have followed the club since its spell in the third tier.
RC Deportivo, Sevilla FC and Villarreal CF are taking a different approach to rewarding fan loyalty. The Galician outfit are offering supporters the chance to win a car and other prizes if they attend every LaLiga home fixture, and are also designating a specific part of the stadium for underprivileged members of society who will be able to enjoy the beautiful game. Sevilla, meanwhile, will be giving away season tickets and club kits in a raffle for season-ticket holders, and Villarreal will be providing their most loyal fans with discounts to attend the Benicassim International Festival (FIB), one of Spain's biggest music festivals.
- are celebrating their return to LaLiga with 10% off for supporters who renew their season tickets from last year, an initiative which UCAM Murcia are also running ahead of their inaugural LaLiga2 campaign. RC Celta and Malaga CF handed out a 5% discount to members who signed up or renewed before 30 June.
Valladolid, Mallorca, Levante and UCAM are not the only LaLiga2 outfits with enticing offers on the table. Season-ticket holders at AD Alcorcon will be afforded the luxury of bringing along a family member under the age of 14 for free throughout the campaign, while Gimnastic have slashed season ticket prices by 50% for the unemployed and children of current members. CD Numancia are also keen to reward fan loyalty by freezing prices for a seventh straight year, as well as incentivising current members to encourage others to sign up through a substantial 50% discount.
