With the completion of the playoffs, the 2014/15 season finished with various records being broken. Including the knockout games, a total of 13,669,634 spectators attended Liga BBVA and Liga Adelante stadiums, increasing the record total number of attendees in LaLiga. The current number beats the 13,527,717 who filled stadiums in the 2009/10 season, the final one without playoffs to earn a place in Spain’s top division.º
Since the Liga BBVA playoffs started there has never been such a high number of people filling stadiums in our football. With a historic 122,699 people going to the playoffs, the total accumulated reached 3,890,602 spectators in Liga Adelante, the biggest number ever achieved in the competition.
The 2014/15 season also marked a milestone with regards to the percentage of occupation of the stadiums. Liga BBVA finished its regular season with 69.81% of the seats taken up, the best number ever recorded. At the same time, Liga Adelante recorded a historic 44.56% record of full stadiums during the campaign, including the promotion playoffs. Together the two LaLiga competitions reach 60.12% of stadium occupation, marking a new record.
In addition to the number of attendees, the number of ticket sales and members has increased significantly. The 2014/15 season marked a historic number in Liga BBVA, with 1,810,993 tickets sold. Adding this to the tickets sold in Liga Adelante, the combined numbers from both competitions is just 7,000 tickets away from the highest number sold, the 2,469,027 reached in 2013/14. With regards to the number of club members, Liga Adelante has managed to substantially increase the affiliation of its sides. With 2,828,245 members, the 2014/15 side achieved the competition’s best-ever number.
