LaLiga and the clubs have this week come together for the second conference of the Boost LaLiga plan. More than 18 months on since the start of the project, the conference objective is to evaluate the development achieved by the clubs and to immerse them in key areas such as technology, digitalisation, and branding. Many other partners and organisations from the world of sport, finance and new technologies are also taking part.

These working sessions, which are taking place at Port Aventura World near Tarragona, demonstrate above all that Boost LaLiga, the league’s agreement with CVC, is helping to boost the professionalisation of LaLiga Santander and LaLiga SmartBank clubs.

40 LaLiga clubs, including Athletic Club and UD Ibiza, who attended the conference despite not being part of the Boost LaLiga project, are participating in sessions on branding, communication, and business development. CF Fuenlabrada and SD Amorebieta have also taken part despite having been relegated from LaLiga SmartBank last season, demonstrating that this is a project with a collective vision which will help Spanish professional football grow further in the future.

The sessions, which will also be attended by representatives of LaLiga F including its president Beatriz Álvarez, will be given by partners and institutions with which LaLiga is working closely to maximise the potential of clubs at both national and international level; for example, "How to monetise our digital strategy" by Meta, Fever and Dorna, and "Investing in the Sports Industry" by CVC. The events will also include an in-depth look at projects that are currently being developed by LaLiga with the support of clubs, such as Legends, The Home of Football, powered by LaLiga, a space which will bring together the largest collection of football memorabilia in the history of the game and feature club memorabilia too.

Building a new era through collective action

These sessions and the conference as a whole have one clear focus: to show that LaLiga and the clubs are building a new era together thanks to Boost LaLiga.

The progress made by clubs in recent months is testament to this. They have all had to present business plans prior to receiving the funds, as well as initiatives to develop internal structures which, in many cases, have served to recruit new personnel and helped them grow in digital strategy, internationalisation and business reach.

Infrastructure improvement has been another focus of investment by clubs, which are looking for ways to improve their fan experience while also exploring avenues to increase revenue, ranging from catering, shops, and training academies for young players from all over the world.

Progress has been seen at all levels, progress which will allow the professional football industry in Spain and the clubs to better position themselves internationally and build a better future as a collective.
