LaLiga and the various Spanish Chambers of Commerce are to team up to further the internationalisation of Spanish football. Nicolas Garcia, the director of the LaLiga Global Network project, today outlined LaLiga's internationalisation plans – spearheaded by the organisation's president, Javier Tebas – during a meeting with representatives from Spain's 35 overseas Chambers of Commerce, held at the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Madrid. "LaLiga and the Chambers of Commerce, with their major international presence, make a perfect partnership that can take the Spain brand all over the world," Garcia said.
Jose Luis Bonet, the president of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, made the opening remarks at the meeting, where he was joined by the institution's director general and general secretary, Inmaculada Riera and Adolfo Diaz-Ambrona respectively: "The network of overseas chambers plays a key role in our efforts to assist our companies' internationalisation processes. Although we're already collaborating on certain initiatives, there is still tremendous scope to go further and vast untapped potential."
Unveiled on 7 November last year, the LaLiga Global Network project will see around 40 young people travel to a range of international destinations to represent LaLiga: "We will try to work hand in hand with the Chambers of Commerce when establishing ourselves in each of the countries where we're going to be present. That'll doubtless be a vital help in smoothing our path and consolidating LaLiga's status as the best football competition in the world," Garcia added. LaLiga already has several international offices, namely in the United States, Dubai, South Africa, Nigeria, India, China and Mexico.
