From 11 June until 4 July, Chile will host the 44th Copa América, the oldest international tournament in the world, and the tournament will certainly not be lacking representation from Spanish football. A total of 19 players will be representing the Liga BBVA and the Liga Adelante, shortly after finishing the 2014/15 season in Spain.

Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia and Venezuela are the nations that have the most players from LaLiga in their squads, with three each. Brazil and Mexico have two LaLiga players, while Chile has one player, and all will be looking to lift the Copa América, which will be defended by Uruguay.

Atlético and Barcelona sending the most players

The rojiblancos are the team with four players 4 in the tournament from LaLiga: Diego Godín (Uruguay), JoséMaría Giménez (Uruguay) and João Miranda (Brasil), all vital players in Diego Pablo Simeone's side's defence in 2014/15, and all will be fighting for the trophy with their respective teams. Atleti fans will also be looking out for Mexican striker Raúl Jiménez, who arrived last summer at the club, and Cebolla Rodríguez, still owned by Atleti but who spent last year on loan in Italy.

Meanwhile, the blaugrana have five internationals who will play the 2015 Copa América. Lionel Messi is the star of their list, which also boasts Claudio Bravo (Chile) and Dani Alves and Neymar (Brazil). The three players have just won the treble with the Catalan club and will be hoping to translate their success to their national sides. Messi scored 43 goals in the Liga, while Neymar contributed seven assists in 33 games, and Claudio Bravo was the goalkeeper with the best defensive record in the league.

After Marcelo Viera’s injury, Colombian forward James Rodríguez will be the only player from the current Real Madrid squad at the Copa América.

The Liga Adelante will also be present in Chile 2015

CD Tenerife will also be represented in this tournament, by Venezuela player goalkeeper Dani Hernández. The custodian, who found consistency after joining Tenerife in the winter, is set to be the number one goalkeeper for Noel Sanvicente’s side, who will be looking to improve on their fourth place finish in Argentina 2011.
