Match Facts:
Malaga (15th, 27 pts):
- The Andalusians are enduring a sticky spell, having gone winless in their last five fixtures. The last time they ran out victorious was when they defeated UD Las Palmas 2-1 in late February.
- "We're looking forward to tomorrow's match," said Malaga manager Michel at the pre-game press conference. Incidentally, Atletico ran out 4-2 winners in the reverse fixture earlier in the season.
Atletico Madrid (4th, 55 pts):
- It is a different story at Atleti, who seem to have rediscovered their mojo in recent weeks. Indeed, last time round, Diego Simeone's men comfortably dispatched Sevilla FC, one of their rivals for a Champions League place, 3-1.

- It is no coincidence that the Rojiblancos' return to top form has coincided with Antoine Griezmann shining again. The Frenchman has been instrumental in his side's three-game winning streak in LaLiga Santander, scoring four of their seven goals in those victories.
