Liga BBVA continues to enjoy world recognition. This time, it is the turn of midfielders who, with their sublime football and subtle passes, have wowed fans of the Spanish game and are now nominated for the 'FIFA FIFPro World XI 2014'.
Five current Liga midfielders make it onto the list of 15 nominees who will battle it out for a place in 'Team of the Year'. There have already been two goalkeepers (Iker Casillas and Claudio Bravo), and ten defenders from the competition.
Now it is the turn of FC Barcelona's Xavi Hernández and Andrés Iniesta, and Real Madrid CF’s James Rodríguez, Toni Kroos and Luka Modrić.
In addition to these five Liga BBVA protagonists, another five of the 15 have previously plied their trade in the Spanish top flight, and will also battle it out for a place in the 'FIFA FIFPro World XI 2014'.
Xabi Alonso, formerly of Real Madrid and currently at FC Bayern München, Ángel Di María, now with Manchester United FC, Mesut Özil at Arsenal FC, and two former Barcelona stars in Yaya Touré of Manchester City FC, and Chelsea FC's Cesc Fàbregas are all on the list of nominees.
